DALLAS – February 10, 2009 – RadioTime, Inc., a developer of technology for finding and listening to radio online, today announced the hiring of Dan Halyburton, a 39-year veteran of the radio industry, as the company’s new President. Halyburton, whose experience includes leading some of the first efforts to stream terrestrial radio over the internet, will report to RadioTime CEO Bill Moore.
RadioTime provides a simple and quick way to find local, national, or global radio programming airing on more than 50,000 AM/FM and internet radio stations. Listeners can use RadioTime to automatically detect what is airing on their local stations, browse by affiliates like ESPN or RadioIO, and search for specific programs or on-air personalities, not just station call letters or genre.
“Consumers and the radio industry are embracing the internet, and RadioTime makes it easy for listeners to find their favorite programming on line and for broadcasters to expand their audiences and build their brand,” said Dan Halyburton, President, RadioTime. “RadioTime draws more than 10 million listening sessions a month from three million listeners, and that number is steadily growing each month. I look forward to working with our broadcaster partners to help them deliver their programming to the ever-increasing number of listeners who are turning to their PCs, connected devices, and smart phones, for music, news and talk radio.”
Halyburton is experienced in all facets of the radio business, beginning his career in 1970 as an on-air personality. Dan spent 25 years with Susquehanna Radio Corp, where he was the Senior Vice President and General Manager for Group Operations. Halyburton oversaw many facets of the groups operation including the groundbreaking interactive and streaming programs. Most recently, Halyburton served as Senior Vice President and Market Manager with Emmis Communications, overseeing operations for Emmis’ three New York City radio stations, Hot 97 (WQHT-FM), 98.7 KISS FM (WRKS-FM) and 101.9 WRXP.
“Everyone at RadioTime is passionate about radio, and we are using our technology to connect listeners and content providers,” said Bill Moore, CEO, RadioTime. “Dan brings nearly 40 years worth of experience and relationships, along with the management talent, that our rapidly growing company needs.”
