RadioTime Highlights for April 13 – April 18

The annual Coachella Music Festival takes place beginning on Friday.  In order to get you ready for the festival, Pandora has created a station featuring Coachella artists.

On Monday, Mark Olson and Gary Louris visit WXPN’s World Cafe.  The show airs live from 2-4 PM Eastern.

On Tuesday, Thor Bendickson serves up the latest music from the jam band scene on “In the Groove.”  The show airs from 9-11 PM Eastern.

On Wednesday, the NHL Playoffs begin and a listing of the games available can be found on RadioTime’s NHL page.  Also, for the latest NHL news, tune into “Hockey Central” daily at Noon Eastern on Toronto’s 590 The Fan.

On Thursday, KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic” gets you ready for The 2009 Coachella Festival with a live performance from Franz Ferdinand.  The band will be a part of the Coachella Festival the following day. “Morning Becomes Eclectic” airs on Thursday from Noon-3 PM Eastern.

On Friday, KEXP presents an entire day of live music as they broadcast live from Cafe Vita on Capitol Hill.  The following is a schedule of live perfmances from Cafe Vita that will be broadcast (all times eastern):

The Beads @ 10:30 AM

The Moondoggies @ 12:30 PM

Say Hi @ 2:30 PM

Mates of State @ 4:30 PM

Black Kids @ 6:30 PM

The Maldives @8:30 PM

Also on Friday, “Y-Rock on XPN” presents radio two takeovers.  The show will be hosted at 8 PM Eastern by AC Newman of The New Pornographers. Then, at 9 PM Eastern, Glasvegas takes over the airwaves.

In addition, there is plenty of dance/electronic music to tune into on Friday to get you ready for the weekend.  BBC Radio 1 starts off their club music block with Scott Miller’s Friday Floor Fillers, airing at 1 PM Eastern.  That is followed by Pete Tong at 2 PM, Annie Mac’s Mash Up at 4 PM and Judge Jules at 6 PM.  Then, live from New York City on East Village Radio, Mark Ronson spins his favorite tracks at 8 PM.
