NASCAR Racing: Tums Fast Relief 500

So far, no one has been able to stop Jimmie Johnson in his “drive for five” NASCAR championships. A third place finish at Charlotte last week stretched his lead to 41 points. If other Chase drivers haven’t been able to slow his success, can a track? This week, the Sprint Cup Series visits the Martinsville paperclip. Can a 19th starting position at a dangerous short track do what other drivers haven’t?

Off-track, the big NASCAR news this week was Kasey Kahne’s release from Richard Petty Motorsports. While the stories swirl about the cause of his release, it will allow Kahne to get a jump on his 2011 ride with Red Bull Racing. Expect to hear lots of Kahne talk on this week’s radio pre-race shows.

The Motor Racing Network (MRN) hosts live radio coverage of Saturday’s Gateway 250 at 3:00 p.m. (EDT). Sunday’s Tums Fast Relief 500 airs at 12:00 p.m. (EDT).
