Bringing New Orleans to the World

This weekend, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival kicks off in the Crescent City, and TuneIn is a great place to follow along with all the festivities. Over the next two weekends, our friends at WWOZ will be broadcasting more than 30 hours of live coverage from the Festival, which celebrates the traditions, history and unique culture of New Orleans. Previously, you would only have access to their great coverage if you were in New Orleans, but with TuneIn, no matter where you are around the globe, you can listen in and be a part of all the action.

All of the content will be available through the existing WWOZ stream already available on the TuneIn platform. The Festival, which runs across two weekends from April 29th to May 8th, and features artists ranging from Robert Plant to John Legend and the Roots, Dr. John and the Lower 911 to Bon Jovi, is one of the largest music festivals in the U.S. and celebrates the rich history of New Orleans alongside the many influences of its diverse music scene.

As a bonus to our listening community, you can follow along with the festival with TuneIn’s social offerings. Scott and I will be down at the festival this weekend, so if you’re making your way to the festival, check in at our booth on Foursquare (we’ll reveal the location soon), or tweet with the hashtag #tuneinwwoz and stop by for some special, limited edition gear. If you can’t be there, you can still be part of all the action. Make sure you’re following us on Facebook, Twitter, and now@tunein on Instagram, as we’ll be providing a 360 degree social experience to supplement your listening experience with the sights, sounds and flavors of this uniquely New Orleans event.

So stay tuned all weekend for great coverage from New Orleans and thanks to our friends at WWOZ for making it all possible.
