Here we go again, it’s an action packed weekend coming up on TuneIn. First, we want to thank the Stanford Chapter of 85 Broads, a women’s entrepreneurship and leadership group, for coming by our office in Palo Alto today. It was great to show them our offices, take their questions, talk about the future of TuneIn and startup life in general here in the Valley. So thanks to Angela and the whole crew for coming down and visiting with us! (And thanks to our intern Kylie, a fellow Stanford Cardinal herself, for taking the picture of us chatting it up!)
Now, like I said, action packed weekend here on TuneIn. We’ve got big music festivals, lots of playoff basketball and hockey, news developing 24/7 at home and abroad, it’s a frantic pace, so here are a few highlights for you to catch up across the weekend.
BBC Radio 1 is camped out in Cumbria for their Big Weekend, featuring performances ranging from Foo Fighters to Lady Gaga, Tinie Tempah to Bruno Mars, Cage the Elephant to Noah and the Whale. You can catch it all weekend long, just point yourself to Radio 1 on TuneIn for great live performances, interviews and new music.
Looking ahead to next weekend, down in Gulf Shores, Alabama, a unique festival is taking place on the beach with the Hangout Music Fest. Featuring a diverse range of artists including The Black Keys, Widespread Panic, STS9 and headlined by the one and only Paul Simon, Hangout combines the best music out there today with sun, sand and surf along the Gulf Coast. To get ready, you can check out Hangout Radio, an internet-only station devoted to the sounds of the fest, on TuneIn.
The quest for Lord Stanley’s Cup is down to its final four participants, and whether you’re following the Canucks, Lightning, Sharks or Bruins, you can get all the news, information, scores and highlights you need from TuneIn. Check them out all weekend long.
And finally, if you’re lucky enough to be out here partying in San Francisco for the 100th running of our famed Bay to Breakers road race or you just need something to keep the party going strong all weekend long wherever you are, check out 181.fm’s Old School HipHop and R&B station. We’ve had it on all day and it’s kept the energy high.
