It’s Memorial Day weekend here in the U.S., and while I’ve made the trek across country for a brief weekend sojourn by Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay, many of you will be headed out to a cookout somewhere, firing up the grill and kicking off the summer in style. TuneIn can provide the soundtrack to any summer weekend, but we’ve got some pretty cool stuff to kick off the very first in 2011.
First and foremost, our friends at KEXP in Seattle are going to have wide-ranging coverage from the Sasquatch! Festival at the Gorge in Eastern Washington. They’ll have live interviews, exclusive in-studio sessions, and performances direct from the stage with a range of artists including Death Cab for Cutie, Rodrigo y Gabriela, !!!, Cold War Kids, Bright Eyes, Foo Fighters and so much more. TuneIn all weekend long for great coverage in and around the festival.
The Indianapolis 500 will get underway on Sunday at Noon ET in the great Memorial Day tradition as well. You can check out 29 hours of race coverage from WFNI in Indy for everything you could ever possibly want to know about the 100th Indy 500.
And finally, since it is Memorial Day, it’s worth taking time out to remember and thank all those who have served and reconnect with what America means to all of us. And if you’re in that patriotic mood, we’ve got lots of stations playing Americana music that can provide the soundtrack to your weekend as well. So just surf on over to tunein.com and find a station that suits you!
However you celebrate this weekend, we hope you’ll take TuneIn with you along the way. Did we miss a station or show that you need while you’ve got burgers on the grill? Let us know! Join the conversation on Facebook and Twitter.
