Do you like music? No? This may not be the Weekend Wrap for you then.
But if you do like, say, rockin’ festivals all over the globe your ship has come in! TuneIn is absolutely bursting at the seams with great live music this weekend, rockin’ your eardrums all weekend long, wherever you are.
We start in the hills of Southeastern Tennessee, where the 10th Annual Bonnaroo Festival is underway as we speak. Bonnaroo Radio is your place to hear great tunes from the artists playing in Manchester this weekend, from Eminem and Arcade Fire to Florence + The Machine to Gogol Bordello and beyond. Also, Annapolis, MD’s WRNR will also be at the festival with exclusive sets all weekend long so check them out as well. Meanwhile, in our Nation’s Capital, our friends at WWOZ are streaming live, exclusive coverage of the DC Jazz Festival live from the National Mall. With a diverse range of artists, including the great Bobby McFerrin, they’ll have the jazz on lock all weekend long with coverage starting at 2:30pm ET/11:30am PT on Saturday. And if you’re a country fan, WSM in Nashville will be following the CMA Country Music Fest in Nashville all weekend long, check them out for special programming and offers.
Across the pond, the UK has two great festivals going this weekend. Absolute Radio will be providing coverage from the Isle of Wight Festival, with participants including Kings of Leon, Beady Eye, Mike and the Mechanics (!), Kasabian and Foo Fighters. Coverage can be heard all weekend long including live cuts from the evening BST. Elsewhere, the Beeb is providing coverage from the Download Festival punctuated by Huw Stephens anchoring coverage from 1pm BST/8am ET on Sunday featuring the Plain White T’s among other favorites.
Is that enough cool tune-age for you? No? (Okay, now you’re just being difficult…)
But let’s say you get some serious music overload there and you want a change of pace. Luckily, we have enough sports to melt your face off! Event hough we’ll go another year without a Triple Crown winner, the Belmont Stakes takes place on Saturday and promises to be one of the more competitive races in years. Check out coverage from Hank 96.1 starting at 5pm ET/2pm PT on Saturday. The NBA Finals and Stanley Cup Finals are reaching a fever pitch as well, Dallas can wrap up their series tomorrow night, while Vancouver and Boston now must play a best of three series to determine who will hoist Lord Stanley’s Cup. Check in to all the latest news and updates from Boston’s 98.5 The Sports Hub, Vancouver’s Team 1040, Dallas’1310 The Ticket and Miami’s ESPN 760.
I think I’m out of breath from all of the awesome stuff we have for you this weekend. But as always, even all these cool stations barely scratch the surface of what TuneIn can offer you, so wherever you are and whatever you’re up to this weekend, check out TuneIn and let us be the soundtrack to your weekend.
